Dovorians

In this photographic series Zoë Coombes looks at how the town she grew up in has changed over the past few years. The once thriving seaside town is no longer seen as a great place to visit but more of a dead end. Therefore people that are from Dover are no longer proud of calling them selves ‘Dovorians’.Coombes will look at the reasons why Dover may have changed over the years by splitting this book into seven chapters, focusing on the main areas of Dover. Starting from if you were to enter Dover through Folkestone, with the first chapter Maxton. The chapters then work there way into the middle which is the Town Centre and the Pier, finally finishing with River, which is the way you exit Dover to go to Canterbury.Every chapter starts with a piece of writing explaining a bit about the area and how it has changed over the past few years. The photographs in this book are also paired with text giving extra detail on what is in the picture and how it has changed.
