Dreamland - M.E, CFS and FM Awareness

Zoe Coombes surreal infrared series 'Dreamland' takes inspiration from photographers such as Ansel Adams, Jerry Uelmann and Sarah Allegra. The series focuses on what it is like to live with an illness such as ME (Myalgic Encephalomyelitis), CFS (Chronic Fatigue Syndrome) and FM (Fibromyalgia). Over 250,00 people suffer from these illnesses in the UK and they are not widely known, therefore suffers are left feeling confused and highly misunderstood. Through images paired with text and the use of blue, which is the ME awareness colour, Coombes tells a story with her photos of the main stages suffers go through when they become ill with these illnesses.

This series was also in the Envision Exhibtion from 14-22nd Janurary 2015 at The Nucleus Arts Gallery.
